Category Manager (Healthcare/FMCG/Medicine)

Main Responsibilities

ORGANIZATION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT

1. Develop divisional/departmental organizational structure, job descriptions, budget to perform the company strategies/goals. Ensure periodical review or whenever necessary;

2. Develop divisional/departmental and individual KPIs, do alignment with direct line manager and ensure the target achievement;

3. Cascade targets to subordinates by assigning KPIs, giving instructions, supporting for achieving the targets and ensuring performance appraisal as requested;

4. Build-up and develop the team, organize and assign tasks, manage the team performance; implement the employees’ competence evaluation and have professional development activities to fix gap between the current and expectation;

5. Deliver training of processes, procedures, work standards/instructions to subordinates, and ensure the compliance within the delegated function;

6. Create best practices for the teams in the systematic approach and ensure activities are delivered in line with these best practices (Includes SOPs, process, policies, work instructions, improvement ideas);

7. Motivate, encourage employee engagement and ensure a positive work environment;

8. Comply with the Company’s processes, procedures, regulations, and standards;

9. Do alignment about the individual KPIs with the direct line manager and ensure the target achievement;

11. Implement other tasks at line manager assigned.

BUYING MANAGEMENT

1. Category Management

– Monitor and analyze the category performance in number of assortments, new products, sales, profit then develop and implement action plans to grow the category based on strategy.

– Conduct frequent market research/ study report IQVIA for new products and pricing…. to ensure range selection meet customer needs.

– Define strategy and action plans to meet sales and profit.

– Develop local/ Import product sourcing

– Bring in relevant NPD which improves Sales& profit of catergories

2. Supplier Management

– Supervise dedicated team members to source more suppliers and new products following company’s strategy on category growth and company’s policy.

– Negotiate with suppliers on the trading terms.

– Work daily with suppliers in terms of stock/pricing/promotion/branding.

– Manage the Join Business Plan with key suppliers to deliver the excellent partnership and maximize the investment from suppliers

– Promotion

– Work with Promotion Manager to create and execute promotion plans, plan monthly promotions/events.

– Deal with supplier for the best promotion supports based on campaigns.

– Work with Supply Chain team to make sure sufficient stocks during promotion time.

Requirements

1. Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher

2. Professional major:

Business, Commercial, Economics

3. Language ability

Good in English (writing, reading, speaking, listening)

4. Computer usage ability

MS. Office (word, excel, power-point)

5. Related experiences:

Minimum 4 years’ working experience in Retail merchandising

6. Essential Capabilities

– Wide knowledge on merchandising and relationship in supply chain.

– Quick learning, willing to take up challenges.

– Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

– Able to work independently, possess a high level of responsibility and commitment.

– Able to lead the team and manage the team to deliver the results.
