JOB DESCRIPTION:

The individual will play a key role in a brand organization, bringing high quality health supplements and wellness products to the Vietnam market. The individual is responsible for the development and oversight of all product formulations across a wide portfolio of health supplements, healthcare and wellness. This role requires a deep understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation science, and market trends to create innovative and effective products that meet consumer needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Formulation Development: Lead the formulation development process for new and existing products, ensuring innovative and high-quality formulations.

Improve product efficacy: Identify and evaluate new ingredients and technologies to enhance product efficacy and performance, collaborating with the Product Development team to develop briefs for new product innovations.

Formulation assessment: Collaborate closely with manufacturers to validate formulations and ingredient usage, ensure product stability testing process and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

New product development process: Collaborate closely with Product Development Managers to ensure that formulations proposed for new products meet the requirement for product benefits and claims, ultimately meeting the consumer needs.

Insight Generation: Conduct continuous research and analysis to stay ahead of market trends and consumer preferences in the dietary supplement industry, collaborating with the Senior Product Development Manager to build the product innovation pipeline.

Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Brand, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory, to ensure product formulations are developed to enable successful product launches and compliance.

Be in-house expert: Provide technical expertise and support for product claims, labeling, marketing initiatives, and product knowledge training.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Candidates with a background in Pharmacy a strongly preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in product formulation within the vitamin and supplements industry, with a strong portfolio of successful products developed.
• Formulation knowledge: Excellent knowledge of ingredient interactions, formulation techniques, and regulatory requirements especially in dietary supplements.
• Analytical skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
• Communication: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Fluent in Vietnamese language to enable collaboration with manufacturers and technical teams
• Fluent in English language
